CONCORD TOWNSHIP, OH –
Lake Health and University Hospitals today announce a new collaboration.
The two hospital systems have finalized an agreement for UH to join the Lake Health Beachwood Medical Center as a minority member.
University Hospitals will join the two founding members of Lake Health Beachwood Medical Center – Lake Health and Manna Isle Ohio, who developed the hospital in collaboration with more than 20 independent physicians.
Lake Health will maintain its majority membership interest. UH will be acquiring a portion of Manna Isle’s interest in the Beachwood hospital.
“Collaboration is part of the culture of health care,” said Cynthia Moore-Hardy, president and CEO of Lake Health. “We think this partnership is a model that can and should be replicated. The point isn’t the structure; the point is what we’re able to do together in collaboration to help patients. This partnership will make healthcare delivery in our region more efficient, cost-effective, and simply better for patients we serve.”
Lake Health and University Hospitals have collaborated for over 20 years to provide cancer services at the Lake Health/University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center in Mentor.
“The agreement expands our longstanding relationship with Lake Health,” said Thomas F. Zenty III, University Hospitals CEO. “UH embraces new models in health care delivery that advance patient quality and value, and we are proud to be part of this new acute care hospital.”
Located at the corner of Richmond Road and Chagrin Boulevard, Lake Health Beachwood Medical Center is a full-service acute care hospital specializing in orthopedics, urology, spine, and pain management. It features 25 private patient rooms, six operating rooms, 24-hour emergency room services, diagnostic services and physical therapy.
