Pulliam is a licensed attorney who excels in leading the execution of compliance programs that align with business objectives.
“UH is routinely lauded for adherence to high standards of ethical conduct, evidenced by third parties such as Ethisphere, recognizing UH among the World’s Most Ethical Companies,” said Dr. Megerian. “To further the goals of our organization to be Northeast Ohio’s most trusted health care partner and the employer our caregivers trust with their careers, we are pleased to announce LaVonne’s return to UH.”
Pulliam had previously worked for UH where she served as an Assistant General Counsel and advised in a variety of areas including supply chain, privacy and data sharing, and reimbursement.
Most recently, she served as a senior compliance leader at Medtronic PLC, a global, publicly traded, $30 billion medical device company with 90,000 employees. As Senior Director and Lead Legal Counsel, she provided guidance on FDA laws and regulations, as well as health care fraud, waste, and abuse regulatory frameworks. Additionally, she led the compliance program for several business units within Medtronic.
Pulliam began her legal career at Benesch Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff, where she served as an associate in the Corporate and Securities Practice Group, representing clients in acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
She received her law degree, master’s degree in bioethics, and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Case Western Reserve University.
Harlin Adelman, JD, UH’s Chief Legal Officer, also has been serving as the interim Chief Compliance Officer. He stepped in for Valda Clark Christian, who took a position with another organization earlier in 2022.
