UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Plans to Distribute COVID-19 Vaccine to Children Ages 5-11
November 03, 2021
CLEVELAND – On November 4, based on the latest authorization by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the recommendation of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s and our UH pediatric practices will begin vaccinating children ages 5-11 against COVID-19. The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine will be available in UH pediatricians’ offices throughout northern Ohio. Parents are encouraged to call their pediatrician’s office to schedule an appointment.
UH Rainbow will also be offering select vaccination clinics. To schedule an appointment for a designated UH Rainbow COVID-19 vaccine clinic, call 216-206-8019. A completed consent form signed by a parent or legal guardian is required.
Vaccinating children against COVID-19 helps protect them and their families from severe illness and reduces the spread of the virus. According to the FDA and CDC, the benefits of vaccination far outweigh the risks for most people. To learn more about the vaccine, visit https://www.uhhospitals.org/services/coronavirus.
