University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Serves Up Summer Lunch for Kids in the Community

CLEVELAND – University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center announces its ninth year of participation in the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce’s USDA Summer Food Service Program with seven distribution sites across Northeast Ohio. Any child is eligible to receive a complimentary meal through the program – there is no income qualification. Free, hot, nutritious meals will be provided to all children ages 1 - 18 at the following locations, Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Per the program guidelines, children must consume the meals onsite – no meals may be taken to go. Dates available for each site are listed below.

“We are so excited to be able to continue this program that offers children a hot, nutritious meal every weekday all summer long," said Kathie Wesolowski, Director, Women’s and Children's Community Outreach, UH Rainbow Babies & Children's. “Providing a delicious and fresh meal while also interacting with the families and sharing nutrition and safety education is one of our favorite community outreach initiatives.”

Meals are provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. There will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. In accordance with Federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, the USDA, its Agencies, offices, and employees, and institutions participating in or administering USDA programs are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity in any program or activity conducted or funded by USDA.
