University Hospitals Orthopedic Physicians Ranked Among the Best in the Nation for Research, According to Avant-Garde Health

CLEVELAND ─ University Hospitals Chairman of Orthopedic Surgery James Voos, MD, is among the top 1% of orthopedic researchers in the country, according to healthcare data analytics company Avant-Garde Health.

Based on published orthopedic research, Dr. Voos, who serves as head team physician for the Cleveland Browns and the Jack and Mary Herrick Distinguished Chair in Orthopedics and Sports Medicine at University Hospitals, is noted for his studies on ACL injuries in athletes and use of wearable technology for injury prevention and recovery.

Also recognized in the top 2-3% of orthopedic researchers is Jacob Calcei, MD, for ongoing research in the use of stem cells, shoulder injuries and evidence-based ergonomics in orthopedic surgery.

Additionally, placing in the top 5% of orthopedic researchers are Drs. Michael Salata, Michael KarnsShana Miskovsky, Robert Gillespie, Brian Victoroff and Alexander Rascoe.
