July 29, 2025
CLEVELAND – For the 27th year in a row, University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center has been named to the prestigious U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals list for 2025–2026 — a testament to nearly three decades of unwavering excellence in patient care, innovation, and medical research.
“This kind of consistency doesn’t happen by chance,” said Cliff A. Megerian, MD, FACS, Chief Executive Officer of University Hospitals and the Jane and Henry Meyer Chief Executive Officer Distinguished Chair. “Earning this recognition for 27 straight years speaks volumes about the extraordinary commitment of our caregivers — from the bedside to the lab bench. It reinforces the trust our community has placed in us for nearly 160 years.”
Of the nearly 5,000 hospitals analyzed and 30,000 physicians surveyed, only 152 hospitals ranked in at least one of the specialties.
“This recognition reflects our team’s passion for improving lives — whether it’s through breakthrough therapies, surgical excellence, or deep-rooted community partnerships,” Dr. Megerian added.
Stathis Antoniades, President of UH Cleveland Medical Center, emphasized the institution’s dual role as a leading healthcare provider and academic powerhouse.
“UH Cleveland Medical Center stands at the intersection of world-class patient care and medical innovation,” Antoniades said. “As one of the top-ranked academic medical centers — 8th in the nation and 16th globally, according to Brand Finance — we are proud to train the next generation of caregivers, pioneer cutting-edge therapies, and pursue bold research that shapes the future of medicine.”
The 2025–2026 ranking not only affirms UH’s national leadership but also reflects a culture of continuous improvement that has made University Hospitals a beacon of healthcare excellence for more than a century and a half.
