Pro Racquet Events Return to Cleveland this Winter
January 08, 2026
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland’s winter sports calendar once again features the return of two world class racquet events, with Squash in the Land PSA Squash and the Cleveland Open ATP Challenger Tour tournaments bringing Cleveland fans a chance to watch some of the world’s best athletes compete up close.
The 3rd annual Squash in the Land gets a brandnew home this year as the PSA Squash Tour Silver event comes to the University Hospitals Drusinsky Sports Medicine Institute, January 13-18th, 2026. The event, operated by Cleveland-based Topnotch Events, will showcase an all-glass show court with horseshoe seating around the court, making for a fantastic viewing and an intimate atmosphere. The men’s and women’s combined event will award over $200,000 in total prize money to some of the top men’s and women’s squash players in the game, including World No. 2 Paul Coll on the men’s side and World No. 5 Olivia Weaver on the women’s side.
“At the heart of this world-class event is the health and well-being of the athletes,” said James Voos, MD, Chairman, Department of Orthopedic Surgery and the Jack and Mary Herrick Distinguished Chair, Orthopedics and Sports Medicine at University Hospitals. “Racquet sports place tremendous physical and mental demands on players, and our role is to be there for them every step of the way. And of course, we are honored to host Squash in the Land at UH Drusinsky Sports Medicine Institute.”
Early Rounds of the tournament will be hosted across the city, January 13-14th, at Urban Squash, Cleveland Skating Club and Cleveland Racquet Club, and are free and open to the public to attend. From the 15-18th, the ticketed showcase quarterfinal-final rounds will be held at UH Drusinsky Sports Medicine Institute.
A few weeks later, some of the world’s best professional tennis players will return to Cleveland for the 8th annual Cleveland Open, held at the Cleveland Racquet Club February 1st - 8th. This men’s ATP Challenger Tour event has brought some of the top players in tennis to Cleveland over the years, and this year it will once again issue over $100,000 in prize money plus highly coveted ATP ranking points. There are numerous Cleveland Open alumni who are currently ranked inside the Top 100 of the ATP Tour, including Sebastian Korda (#50), Alex Michelson (#38), Brandon Nakashima (#33), Arthur Rinderknech (#29), and more.
Beyond the tennis, the tournament will feature a number of connected events including the VIP kick-off party, and Kids Day with clinics and activities. The event also supports both Advantage Cleveland and Changeover, two Cleveland-based non-profits doing important work in the Cleveland tennis community.
“We are thrilled to support the Cleveland Open and join forces with Advantage Cleveland Tennis and Education,” said Andi Garten, U.S. Bank Business Banking East Region Executive. “At U.S. Bank, our commitment to supporting communities throughout Ohio is imperative. Supporting events like the Cleveland Open allows us to strengthen local programs that inspire and empower individuals, as we look forward to making a meaningful impact together.”
The Cleveland Open is free and open to the public through the early rounds, and becomes ticketed on Thursday, February 5th.
Tickets for both Squash in the Land and Cleveland Open are available via ticketing partner Vivenu, and more details including schedule information, player details, and ticketing and sponsorship opportunities are available on the tournament websites, at www.squashintheland.com and www.cle-open.com.
